More stuff I've been doing

I think of this as a messy post and since this was sort of a messy project, then I guess this works. I have been spray painting jewelry new colors and molding metal into cuffs and making sheer maxi skirts. For another creative project of mine, I decided to change the color of some of my clothes . I thought it was a nice way to switch things up a bit. I purchased fabric dye and went at it on this old BCBG shirt. The original color was bayleaf and did not suit me at all. This color would've been brighter but the base was very brown so I think that messed it up a little bit. Regardless, I am happy with this new shade much more. I did this all in my stainless steel sink so it wasn't as bad as I thought but still a sink full of teal was kind of messy!!

Peplums, a staple item and a DIY

I've been longing for a peplum skirt or dress! I think they're so chic! But of course I wouldn't want to be cornered into having only one dress or skirt that has a peplum. I'd have to wear it over and over to get that look or buy a bunch, and that's in no way logical. So I considered making my own peplum belt but purchased the one pictured from BCBG. I still may make one just probably neon yellow!!  I also have a very versatile tube dress from LIT that I paired it with. I wear it under and with everything. Below are some pics of me wearing the tube dress. I just threw a pussy bow blouse over it for a simple look. The shirt is a little sheer so the fact that I had a complete dress on helped. It really has become my new staple item. I also recently found a great peplum DIY so I'm sharing that as well! Just click on the pic. Happy Wednesday :)

Skirts

I know everyone is posting about Fashion Week and I adore reading all the posts and am excited for friends attending, but this is just a simple inspiration post. I took a break from browsing online and have to be honest in saying I'm in a bit of a funk. Ways that I am inspired are through blogs of my peers, people watching/local street style and websites ie. ASOS, Nasty Gal, LuLu's, Zara, BCBG and you get the point. I browsed today on ASOS and found myself excited with the skirts they have. Makes me think of Spring and being able to float around the city in a beautiful skirt.  Anyways, enjoy.

Night at the Symphony

A night at the Boston Symphony Orchestra! The decadence. The class. The eagerness. The outfits.
Four amazing pieces by Weber, Beethoven, Strauss & Harbison. Everyone was dressed to the nines. It was like a formal evening out and I loved it. I'd wear a gown if I could! Regardless, it was beautiful to be there and the pieces were as well. I quickly took some self portraits, once again, of my chic little outfit for the symphony.

Petit cadeau pour moi

My mother wears Mademoiselle. I love it and it mostly because it reminds me of her. The only reason I'm posting it is because I have the Eau de Toilette aka the cheaper version and I splurged and got the Eau de Parfum. Not the biggest deal in the world and I should be saving my money, but I am happy and rather fortunate to to be able to purchase this lovely fragrance. It's a very popular fragrance and maybe even a little cliche, but it's what I'm into at the moment. I never got into wearing fragrance until my mid twenties. Have always loved Michael Kors (it's my go to), J'adore, Marc Jacobs and Womanity by Theirry Mugler. I decided I'm giving up high end mascaras for the meantime as a sort of trade off. Seems silly but it's my way of compensating for making a high priced purchase on an item that evaporates.
